Many technological and educational innovators, researchers and commentators are active on microblogging platforms. While X (formerly Twitter) was long the most popular platform, there was something of an exodus in late 2022 and early 2023, notably to Mastodon, with another exodus following in late 2024 and early 2025, notably to Bluesky. The last of these is currently very popular among educators. Note: for a guide to long-form blogging rather than short-form microblogging, see the Blogs to follow page (which also covers Substack newsletters).
The list below contains the names of individuals and organisations worth following, along with an indication of whether they remain on X, or have switched to other platforms such as Mastodon, Bluesky or Threads, or in some cases have a presence on more than one platform.
