In this section, you’ll find a summary of key themes relating to the use of digital technologies in education. It begins with an overview of learning design, which is now attracting greater attention as educators find themselves increasingly becoming designers of learning experiences for their students. Within this framework of learning design, it addresses the core skills of digital literacies and coding; outlines the concepts behind PLNs (personal learning networks), PLEs (personal learning environments) and e-portfolios, indicating their roles in supporting learning and assessment; and concludes with a consideration of digital safety and wellness, including an extensive list of relevant educational resources.
